A whole year has passed and though I will upload a few nice photographs, I didn't do anything related to painting. We have already March and nothing new has arrived.
But wait! I was active! I painted a whole weekend in a beautiful location with marvelous vegetarian food. Here: Seminarhaus Deinsdorf They offer courses called "Heilendes Malen", that roughly translates in "Healing through Painting". We painted mostly on a quite big canvas, mine has been 80x80 cm and used exclusively earthen colours - with that I mean dirth, earth, from the outside, collected the last time the course took place. And ash and soot (which is quite a mess when it coes to cleaning). At least in the initial stages of our picture - in the advanced stages we used brighter, colourful colours also, greens, reds etc, but still ones made out of grinded stone etc. This powder (soil etc) was mixed with (part of) a whole egg beaten with kettle boiled oil (Leinölfirnis) at the ratio of one egg+ half a eggshell of oil. You put both in a glass with lid and shake it well. Water can be added ad libitum.
We went through several stages with our painting, which I have to get straight first before I can post them, but generally we found a form, disolved that again and looked what new form we saw (in the disolved mess in my case) on our canvas. Where we first painted only with "dirt" from outside, we could use now bright colours also. As my favourite colours are green and blue, I did a green and blue painting - a kind of mermaid. But have a look for yourself!
